The Council has a special interest in collecting and disseminating examples of best practice in advocacy training. Council members visit advocacy training courses provided by the Inns and Circuits throughout the year. These visits are designed to support the Inns and Circuits in their provision of advocacy training, and to help gather examples of best practice.
ATC members visiting advocacy training courses complete reporting templates that are designed specifically to give details of any particularly noteworthy innovations. In addition, the visitors will make note of any areas in which the Inn or Circuit providing the training might benefit from the help and support of the Council.
In order to ensure these visits are a collaborative process, the ATC also asks each Course Director to complete a complementary reporting template. This offers the Inns and Circuits the opportunity to seek the Council’s assistance on a particular matter, and to flag up any areas of best practice in the delivery of advocacy training that they think might be of particular interest to the other Inns and Circuits.
